#OurTeam: Gabriel Diaz de Bedoya, CEO

Updated: Feb 18

We introduce you to Gabriel Díaz de Bedoya, CEO of Consorcio Aviation. An ordinary person passionate about living. Today, he tells us a little more about the person beyond the professional.

What is your role at Consorcio Holding? And at Consorcio Aviation?

I am Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Consorcio Aviation and Consorcio Holding. My main focus is to build resilient teams and sound financial and administrative procedures while we create innovative service solutions for our clients and business partners.

How did Consorcio Aviation come to be?

Consorcio Aviation is a company that spawned from a family-owned firm named Consorcio Aéreo. This company was a pioneer airline representation firm that worked with many renowned airlines from across the world as a country rep and GSA in Paraguay. Consorcio Aéreo subcontracted me as Station Manager for US military flights into Asunción, and I saw an opportunity—that by harnessing relationships with outstanding agents across the Americas, a network of service providers could be consolidated to extend services to civil aviation companies, private jets, and others. We created a new firm and started to offer flight support services, and today, Consorcio Aviation is a groundbreaking and growing company serving many international airlines across the spectrum of aircraft types in the Americas.

What are the main personal or professional achievements you highlight since the creation of Consorcio Aviation?

I believe that earning the trust of companies such as Antonov, Cargo Jet, and other best-in-class airlines has proven that our business model is a worldwide success story, and there is appreciation and need for the turnkey services we provide. The market confirms my sentiment, as we have only experienced growth as far as service revenue is concerned since our inception.

What do you like most about your job?

I enjoy problem-solving and doing it with a group of committed and eager-to-learn professionals, which is what we have at Consorcio Aviation.

In your daily life, what inspires you? (or who?)

I am inspired by the quiet potential of an early morning, where I bring myself to engage in a new and exciting day while enjoying the peace of mind that I have done everything the day before to continue changing lives by growing our business with proper values and care for all people.

Do you have a personal quote or a favorite phrase to share with us?

Tony Robbins says, “The way you do one thing is the way you do everything.” This went to my core when I first heard it, and it helps me to stay in the moment, to mind my values and purpose, and always put the truth and what’s right first in every decision.

Behind the professional, who is the person? What are your passions, and what is your story?

I am a lifelong student of the mysteries of who we are, what makes us human, and why. These questions have taken me on spiritual journeys every day, whether I am practicing it in some form of worship or at the office leading a meeting. I constantly hold some part of myself in this space of wonder and appreciation of life and the experiences I am part of.

Do you have any new goals or challenges in mind?

I have been working on a resilient homestead meant to be a learning center for people, teaching the value of growing food, learning skills to build and make the most of what our green earth has to offer, living the best life, and also healing through nature and nurture. The project has been ongoing for almost 10 years and is now moving into an exciting phase.
